Verizon Wireless - Greedy liars and the worst experience I've ever had with a company.
My entire family (11 people) switched from T-Mobile to Verizon Wireless just recently. My Dad and Brother travel a lot for work, and weren't getting great reception with T-Mobile, so we all agreed to switch to Verizon for better coverage.
My sister-in-law set up the plan for us - she went in and talked with the store in Oregon where she and my brother were living (the rest of my family lives in Utah). She asked them specifically if we could all keep our phones from T-Mobile and told them which kind of phone we each had. They told her unequivocally - YES. Fast forward about a week.
Turns out my Brother's Samsung phone doesn't work on Verizon's network, so he was forced to buy a brand new $800 phone. Everyone else in the family is finally ported over from T-Mobile, but they set up the account wrong and gave everybody the wrong SIM cards, so my Dad had my Mom's number, my brother-in-law had my wife's number, etc. We had to play merry-go-round with phone for hours upon hours. My sister and I have paid off our 2 month-old iPhone 7's from T-Mobile - cost us both about $550.
We got them unlocked, and we are trying to switch our service to Verizon. We've ported over our number so our T-Mobile SIM cards have stopped working, and for an entire day our Verizon ones aren't working either. So we go into the Verizon store and guess what? We wait for 2 hours because we aren't authorized users, and they won't allow my sister-in-law to add any authorized users for 30 days and she is in Oregon.
After 2 hours of getting this worked out, oh, the iPhone 7 from T-Mobile actually DOESN'T work on our network either. You have to buy brand new phones. And, you've reached the credit limit on your account so you can't finance the phone like everybody else either, you have to buy it outright. (When I tell my sister-in-law this she is astounded, because she tried to buy her new phone outright and they wouldn't let her in Oregon.
Why? Because if you buy a phone outright the sales person doesn't get a commission. So they lied to her about that too). So two more $800 phones from Verizon, when we were supposed to be able to buy ZERO and spend ZERO on new phones if we didn't want to.
The entire process takes about four hours. When I finally get home and get my phone set up, I realize that the upper left hand corner of my screen is discolored and not working properly. Great! My sister and I met at a central location to buy the new phones, which is about 30 minutes away for me.
So, I go to the store in my local town and show them the problem and ask them to switch out the phone for me. Of course, this is also a problem! They can't switch it out for me, can't give me a good reason WHY they can't switch it out for me, and tell me I have to go back to the store where I bought the phone in order to switch out my phone and get one that actually works right. ARE YOU KIDDING ME VERIZON?!
You could not have made every step of the way more of a hassle, lied to us more, or cost us more money and time in switching over. If someone on your plan wants to switch to Verizon, tell them absolutely not to.
Don't get stuck like me, paying hundreds of dollars because my entire family already switched over and staying on a different provider by myself would cost hundreds too. Verizon absolutely does not have your best interest in mind, and will make everything as difficult and as expensive as possible.

Went to get husband new phone at Christmas time. Unfortunately we went to one of the local stores to get with this.
We upgraded both of our phones and was told as a Christmas special they were giving away the smart pad for free all we would have to pay is the $10 a month for wifi. So of coarse we took it only to find out later that we are now locked into a 2 year contract for this "free" tablet. Buyer beware of these salesmen. They have become like time share salesmen.
Question everything before signing!!!! Can't trust them AT ALL!!!!
