Verizon Wireless in Marlboro, New York - Unethical business practices by sales people

1.8
Details
I needed to upgrade my phone so went to the store. I picked out the XS Max 256GB and paid for the misc. cost. The sales person tried to sell me a phone case and I refused to buy it. I got home and noticed that he game me the wrong phone. So I returned it next day and ended up paying extra cost because he didn’t charged me correctly the day before. He didn’t provided many any receipts on both days. I waited a couple day and checked my account. I got charged for an insurance that I didn’t approve and couldn’t find $60 charge on my account. I called the customer service and told that it was for a restocking fee. He gave me the wrong phone and charged me for his mistake. It’s distasteful.

I've been a customer for ~ 25 years and watched Verizon go from offering their customers good incentives for buying a new phone and staying with their service to becoming an overpriced company with services no better than their major competitors. My last phone upgrade...

We had our Century Link and Verizon service bundled for several months. No great problems. Then we decided to upgrade our cell phones at Verizon and chose the payment plan. Verizon gave us a $120 gift certificate to use as a reward for upgrading and said we could use it...

Verizon Wireless - Cell Phone Upgrade Review

If I only knew that Verizon trains it's employee's to lie and mislead the customer I would not of even of walked into this store. I hope your satisfied with your greedy method of meeting your quota by doing whatever it takes to steal from the consumer. I hope the public is aware of what your employee's are train to do, and read this review. My wife was put on a contract without her knowledge, and was given a refurbish phone to replace the one that was given to her when phones were issued. Also the phones cost $650 dollars for a refurbish phone. I hope this is read by anyone who plans to sign up with Verizon and think about it what your getting into.

Verizon Wireless - Cell Phone Upgrade Review from Fairbanks Ranch, California

Shame on Verizon Wireless!! It's a unbelievable that such a large, successful, multi-million dollar organization treats it's loyal customers so poorly & conducts business in such underhanded & unscrupulous ways. I have been a faithful & consistent customer of Verizon Wireless for 8 years. Although Verizon Wireless is the most expensive service I always make my payments. My line has never been disconnected ). It appears that after 8 years of faithful payments & uninterrupted service Verizon Wireless still does not see me as a customer worth keeping. I have just had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. A month ago I attempted to upgrade my phone on the Device Payment Plan. I was told that I cannot upgrade on the device payment plan because a charged-off account was found under my social security # but i could upgrade if I paid the 2 year contract price (whether the charged off account issue was resolved or not). I called Verizon to find out the details of this charged-off account & was advised that the only way that I can upgrade anytime in the near future would be to pay the 2 year contract price or settle/pay in full the charges on the fraudulent account. I was advised that placing a fraud claim would take some time to be sorted out, possibly even a month so upgrading immediately would only be possible at the 2 year commitment price. I was unhappy with this answer so I contacted the cancelation department to inquire about what my final charges would be, etc because I was going to cancel at the end of my monthly cycle & go with a family plan on At&t rather than pay for account charges that weren't mine or the 2 yr contract price which would have come to $450 after tax & activation fee. Once again encouraged to pay the fraudulent account. I was ASSURED that if I paid the fraudulent charges or settled them that I would be able to upgrade my phone on the device payment plan immediately. I love Verizon's call quality & really wanted to stay with them so I agreed to a settlement for less than $100. I needed a new phone desperately & $100 was far less than the deductible to replace my damaged phone or the 2 year contract price. I spent 4 hours today on the line with 5 different Verizon customer service departments to try to clear up a fraudulent account that was opened in my name & once I finally succeeded I was told that I still could not upgrade on the device payment plan. I truly feel lied to & utterly taken advantage of by Verizon Wireless. When I called the cancelation department I didn't think that I could feel worse about how Verizon Wireless treats it's long-term customers but I was wrong

Verizon Wireless in Pelham, Alabama - Lying Salesperson

2.6
Details
I went to the store in Hoover AL and asked if I was due for a free upgrade, if I was I would get a new phone provided I could change my own battery. I was told the Maxx2 was free and that my bill would be $35/month lower because I had discontinued some other services. My bill the following month was not much lower, so I called and learned that my "free" phone was being billed at $16 per month for 24 months. Further, that I couldn't return it because it was past the 14 day return period. I also found that I cannot change the battery myself. I was unaware of the lie and the charges until after this period had passed. It is only fair that I should be allowed to return to my previous phone and get a refund on the phone that I was lied to about.

Verizon Wireless in Bolingbrook, Illinois - Discrimination

1.0
Details
I just left the Verizon wireless store located at 224 Weber Rd. Bolingbrook, IL 60440 inquiring about an upgrade for 2 of my 4 lines. That was the worst experience EVER!! I felt discriminated against, belittled and racially profiled. I,a black woman and my son entered the store in hopes to upgrade his IPhone along with my other sons iPhone. A young heavy set Caucasian female with acne (she didn't give me her name) approached me and I told her that I was looking to upgrade 2 of my lines. After she verified my identity, she told me that I was eligible for an upgrade on any of my lines. This sounded strange because just a week before I visited this same location and a wonderful young lady by the name of Tiffany Robinson informed me that 2 of my lines were eligible for an early upgrade at that moment. She also informed me that the 2 iPhones wouldn't be eligible for an early upgrade until sometime around or after January 25, 2016. This was because my sons did not receive their phones at the same time as my husband and I because the iphones were on backorder when we switch over. This is why I visited the store today. The store rep claimed none of the lines were eligible for an upgrade and I explained to her that Tiffany told me something different just the week before at this same store. I asked when was the next time Tiffany was in because I would much rather deal with her because of the different information I was being given. She informed that Tiffany would be in on Tuesday January 26th. I asked her how is it that Tiffany told me one thing and now here she was telling me something different. She claimed that maybe she couldn't see any upgrades because of a $300 balance that isn't due until February10, 2016. I asked her is the balancer had just appeared because I'm sure Tiffany saw the same balance when she looked at my account. My account isn't past due and I don't owe for multiple months, so I don't know why this would've been an issue just a week later. This is where the discrimination, as I feel it was, come into play. When I entered the store when my son, there was one customer present who left literally seconds after we entered. There were 2 male Caucasian Verizon employees, a security guard who was sitting over in the corner (not walking around patrolling the store) and the young female that was assisting me. The security guard wasn't even in the area where he could be seen by anyone, he could only be seen when entering the store because he was sitting down, not working. I offered the pay my bill that wasn't due until Feb.10th if that would mean an upgrade. The Verizon rep said she couldn't guarantee that making the payment would make me eligible. She is the one suggested this but she couldn't tell me is it make eligible didn't sound right. I asked her if the balance had just appeared or could it have been there last week when I first visited the store. Once again she didn't know anything. I told her that I would come back in and speak to Tiffany because what I was being told didn't mesh with what Tiffany told me. At this time the security officer walk over to the are where I was talking with the rep as if I was a threat. There was a black guy that emerged from the back and took a defense position. He was acting like he was looking at his phone but glancing at me. The two white workers that were engaged in a conversation all of sudden stopped their talking and started looking at me. I asked if there was a problem or did I pose some kind of threat to which one of the white guys said no not at all. I have never in my life felt so discriminated against. My son and I exited the store and I could see them all laughing and looking us as we sat in our car. I never once raised my voice, I asked valid questions that the rep didn't know the answers too not did she try to find an answer. She had a disposition like there was no way I could have been told that. I have the card Tiffany Robinson gave me when I was in the store just a week earlier. I did absolutely nothing to warrant this kind of treatment!! I will be contacting the corporate office and posting on every review resource I can find about this horrid experience. I am a taxpaying resident of Bolingbrook and I will report this behavior to our chamber of commence. This kind of behavior and customer service needs to be addressed!!

Verizon Wireless in Midlothian, Virginia - Forcing unlimited data users out of the market by raising prices

1.0
Details
I have not had a phone upgrade because of my unlimited data as it's more important to keep that than to get a new phone at that price. It goes without saying how wrong this is to force unlimited data users out of the market by raising prices $20. ANOTHER THING! I have auto-pay on my account and I do not look at my bill as it shouldn't change with my plan of course. I notice my bill going up and finally checked into it. They never notified me to tell me about the hike in pricing. They put it on a bill that I obviously do not check if I'm on auto-pay. Verizon, did you not have my cell phone number? Like really????? Verizon, you suck.

Verizon Wireless in Hudson, New Hampshire - 20 year customer GONE

1.5
Details
We are 20 year customers who wanted to upgrade our kids phones 3 DAYS EARLY since they didn't work. Verizon said NO!!!! Best Buy did it on the spot 10 mins after leaving verizon and lowered the bill 30 dollars a month. We didn't get the correct boxes and labels to send the phones back from verizon. We called them several times and got the same run around. Big 600.00 charge for the phones. We called them and could not even give us the same story!!!!!!!!! Literally, they kept correcting each other on policy. They left it as, sorry is the best they can do! Are you friggin kidding me? 20 years, no issues, bill paid early and this is it? I'm going to At+T once they open. Brian and Amy Harkins, Hudson NH. 1/3/2016 09:45am, *** verizon, eventually you will lose enough customers to make you care.
