I believe I was intentionally misled by Verizon Wireless telesales to buy a phone not to solve my telcom needs, but to clear their shelf of inventory that is becoming obsolete.

My current Verizon phone has become unreliable, and so I opted to upgrade it thru the verizon wireless telesales department. I described my use as a talker/texter but clearly NOT a data user. They sold me a Samsung Stratospehere (plus $30/month data package) anyway, because that makes their business run well.

Trying to make lemonade out of a lemon, I gave that expensive phone to my kid, and started over again with telesales.

Second time through, I asked for a "Basic" phone to text and talk on. And they gave

Monetary Loss: $100.
