Expect delays

I didn't get my internet until that Friday, end of the day. They finally had to send out a tech who said that the modem they sent me would never have worked in my location.

He had to go program something at a nearby substation AND spend at least an hour with his tech support. I am happy to report, however, that the modem has worked flawlessly since installation.

I made arrangements to have my new phone line and Internet installed in my new house. They promised me it would be ready to go by Monday morning which was four days after my order. Then they said it was Tuesday. Then they said it will be done by 5 PM. Now they say it’s two more days. I don’t know why it takes so long to get an Internet connection.

Whether it be wireless, home or business don't fall prey!! They are such blood sucking idiots!!

You leave their service get slammed with this outrageous disconnected fee and then they continue months later to charge you endless fees that the supposedly forgot. Then harass you endless to come back as if I would. There service sucks!! It's over priced and they are just completely high on themselves. Stick with Optimum and with any other wireless provider, get them off there f!@#ing pedestal!!

Horrible customer service

I have been a Verizon customer for over 20 years. I needed a grace period of ONE day after always paying my bill on time, and they wouldn't budge at all. I'm about to switch to MetroPCS or something more affordable, but I thought by being a loyal customer, one day wouldn't be a big deal. So I had to literally un-enroll as a customer, then re-enroll, causing me to lose my discount. I am so tired of them and their horrible customer service. DO NOT USE VERIZON!

Each time I try to log into my verizon account, I cant. They want me to reset my password over and aver. Calling customer service is a joke. It seems like verizon's largest department is the how to frustrate your customers department. On the website, even the chat button doesnt work. Dealing with companies online shouldnt be difficult, but verizon has worked very hard to see that it is. If you get through to a customer service person, all they want to do is sell you stuff that you cant use, they dont even want to hear why you called. Everywhere I look online, verizon customer service has an 80%+ bad rating, but they are striving for a perfect 100% bad rating. Try another company, get two soup cans and a string, anything but verizon!!

They didn't respond to my letter. Also, I tried switching to Sprint as they will buy your plan out.

Verizon found a way around that.

Once you sign with Verizon.... You are trapped

Worst Customer service EVER!!!

I spent a total in one day of 8 hours and 33 mins on the phone with Verizon, getting bounced around from one Rep to another Rep trying to get a replacement phone. At the end of the day,9 :45 PM i was able to have them send me one out which now is going to take 3 days, 3 days without a phone and 1 full day of being on a computer speak to them, thank you google hang outs. Verizon hands down is the worst when it comes to customer services.

Really slow data (felt like false advertisement)

I recently (in September 2019) signed up for Verizon's new prepaid phone plan which included 16 GB of high speed data. I live in Provo, Utah, near Salt Lake city, so I assumed I wouldn't have an issue with getting fast data. The data plan is supposed to give you 4G LTE data if the network is not congested. However, after my first day of service, the network must have always been congested because I never once (not a single time) had 4G LTE data. Most of the time my data was 3G (not even 4G), and sometimes it was even 1-2G. It was very very slow. After a month of service I cancelled and switched to Cricket. If you want a good phone provider, that is not only a little cheaper but that almost always also gives you 4G LTE data (I don't think I've ever not had 4G LTE data yet with them), then check out Cricket. It's a really good service.

I got home and noticed that he game me the wrong phone. So I returned it next day and ended up paying extra cost because he didn’t charged me correctly the day before. He didn’t provided many any receipts on both days. I waited a couple day and checked my account. I got charged for an insurance that I didn’t approve and couldn’t find $60 charge on my account. I called the customer service and told that it was for a restocking fee. He gave me the wrong phone and charged me for his mistake. It’s distasteful.

Time to SWITCH

I rely only on my Verizon wireless phone and I do live in an area with very marginal signal from Verizon although it’s the best we have. My network extender failed, so no phone service. After 4 long (1 to 2 hours each) chat sessions I’m nowhere with a replacement. Each chat assured me it was being sent, gave me order numbers, but turns out it has not shipped. This issue has been a total waste of a lot of my time, left me with no phone service and been very discouraging for a company I’ve been doing business with since it was known as Bell Atlantic almost 50 years ago. Seems like it is time to switch to another carrier but are any of them any better?

Being Over Charged / No Help

They sent me a phone because mine was not charging with the pad, I decided not to use and sent back. Well, they charged me over 1500.00 for the phone not being returned and it was. I received a message that the credit would be on my next bill which it was not, so I paid 300.00 guessing that would cover my normal bill, and guess it did not because they were sending messages they were going shut service off to my phones. They made me pay another $153.63 which would have made my normal monthly bill $453.63 ... which should not be. So I called Verizon and Leah could not help or explain and transferred me to another dept, and I told her I am at work and don't have a lot of time if they could check into it and get back to me? she said, no we don't make outbound calls. I was transferred and sat on hold for over 23min with nothing and had to hang up because I am at work. I can't figure out why my normal bill is $387.32 either ... I have tried several times and can't get answers from them when you are put on hold forever, then hung up on without speaking to anyone. I think this is how they *** people off so they just hang up and deal with being screwed over.

4 hours, terrible service, miss TMo

We came in yesterday to switch back to Verizon from T Mobile. We went to T Mobile for their better cost, and for BOGO promo on the Note 10. I *loved* Tmobile. They were very nice, process was very quick and easy. Sadly, we were not able to get adequate coverage on the TMo network where we live (mismatch between the coverage map and actual experience), as we are in the medical profession and have to be on call for emergencies at a moment's notice. They were awesome about the return, as they have a "risk-free" policy in place. I talked about TMo on a review of Verizon in order to illustrate the difference between our terrific experience there and the awful experience we had with Verizon. We spent *4 hours* here,with a small child, trying to get our service reestablished, a day after leaving. Every time the rep had to talk to someone, it took 15 to 20 minutes. This is not unusual for Verizon stores either; we have been subjected to hour-long wait times just to see a rep at other stores as well. Leaving and coming back so soon didn't count for us to qualify for new customers BOGO (after being told it would initially), but it sure did count when it came time to put back our data plan and take away the discount on my husband's device, which did have only about $150 owed, now over $300. Then, John at the national "Win back" team harassed my husband verbally for having hearing loss when my husband had trouble hearing him on the store's phone. I wound up in tears over the whole situation. We still don't have new phones. We had to reinstate our old phones. Yes, we could have bought new ones here, but we would have had to added a line we didn't need to get the BOGO promo. After wasting an entire afternoon, I didn't want to be there any longer. Plus my husband was done after being put down by John over his disability. I might have given 2 stars, because the rep did spend a lot of time with us and the in-store manager was kind, but the rep's parting words to me were to lecture me that I should have come in to Verizon before switching to save money. (Why? So I can be made to wait hours? Only to be told what I already knew from online research, that we couldn't get a promo deal, couldn't get a senior rate, etc. We would have been saving at least $60 per month at TMo). Verizon has no respect for its customers. They don't respect people's time or intelligence. They don't respect people's loyalty either (We had been customers for 9 years on this account, more on other previous accounts. Not a bit of difference.) Some of them don't even respect customers' basic dignity to be treated with respect despite a physical handicap. I have absolutely zero goodwill towards Verizon, and I loathe having to spend my money with them. If I had an alternative, I would be with another carrier.
