Verizon hiding behind failed smartphone return system

After working for many years in customer service I feel they (cs reps/supervisors) don't understand the problem. The mailing system used is confusing to Verizon employees and consumers alike. They sent me a fedex label/which in turn I used to mail my smartphone back and now is is lost in the mysterious warehouse and I am being billed. I have spent over 12 hours dealing with this and have had the search elevated to Darryl Harrington out of the Houston call center. As a customer since 2000 I am outraged at the failed cs plans, the talking around the issue of their failed smartphone returns, the uninformed reps. What an outrage. As a consumer I will direct anyone away from Verizon if this doesn't get resolved. There is absolutely a deep failure on Verizon's part in how they are directing their approach on lost smart phones. A deep failure. They should investigate the theft payoff ring at their various warehouses. My company and I will be taking our 125 phones elsewhere on principle.

Lied to Repeatedly, Refuses to Stand by Their Products

I have been to five Verizon stores, and have found only lousy customer service. You cannot find anyone with half a brain that works for this company. Every employee lies to you about what they can and cannot do for you. First lie was that you cannot connect a phone you haven't purchased from Verizon. False. I have had two other customer service reps tell me otherwise, and I know someone who used to work for Verizon who tells me that CAN do this. Not to mention, that ALL other carriers will do this... FOR FREE! Extremely deceptive business. My LG Cosmos phone restarts EVERY single time I press a button on it. Their response: "well you shoulda purchased the insurance then we could help ya, durr!" I SHOULD NOT have to purchase insurance on my phone for you to even look at it! STAND BY YOUR PRODUCTS LIKE A DECENT COMPANY! If you sell terrible products that fail to last more than a few weeks, you should ACTUALLY RESOLVE the issue, instead of telling me I need to spend hundreds more on another phone! I PAY MY BILL ON TIME, I'VE PAID THOUSANDS INTO YOUR COMPANY FOR OVER TEN YEARS! I HAVE A RIGHT, AS A CUSTOMER, to get QUALITY customer service. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for fixing my problem when I have one! That's what I'm paying you people for! Once they realize that they cannot sell you something, they shut down and couldn't care less about your satisfaction as a customer. Employees are obviously not trained well enough. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get quality customer service from Verizon. I used to be an Alltel customer (before Verizon bought them out). Alltel actually cared about their customers. Alltel would do everything in their power to help you. With Verizon, you're lucky if they even pay attention to your problem. To be honest, ALL Verizon stores are like this. You cannot get quality customer service from Verizon, because Verizon does not care about its customers. AT ALL. They're only walking money bags, from the company's perspective. Even my friend, who used to be a Verizon employee, told me they were crooked. Verizon even teaches their sales reps to be dishonest, deceptive... anything to simply get a sale. Vote with your wallet, people! Go someplace else!

Verizon does not value your time - Deceptive practices

Just went through a three hour ordeal of attempting to add a line to my existing plan. I was offered a discount for a phone, and then told to go ahead and buy the phone without the discount, for the amount would later be credited to my account and removed from my bill. Now they refuse to credit the money to my account. Extremely annoying, especially for someone as busy as I currently am and incredibly disrespectful. I doubt I would be treated this way at Verizon's competitors. Buyer beware! I warn against trusting Verizon with your cell service.

Lied to get contract and phone

This was the oklahoma city store on Penn ave. in April 2010. the sales associate placed my rebate for the phone in an envelope for 50.00 told me to just stamp and mail. Also stated my activation fee would be wiaved for the new service. The rebate offer came back and stated missing numbers from the box from the cell phone which the associate kept. I went back to the store talked to the manager to no avail. I wrote letters to the company with no response. I recieved a bill also for the actitivation fee. I will never do business with verizon again.

Paying for Verizon customer service incompitence

On 4/10/12 I called Verizon Customer Service and informed them of our newly budget restraints and that we were looking at cutting our monthly costs. I specifically asked Verizon Customer Service rep to confirm the contract termination dates of all 4 of our phones. The rep confirmed the contract termination date for 2 of my phones as 4/15/12. On 5/5/2012, based on the information received from Verizon, affirming contract terminations dates of 4/15/12, I switch 2 Verizon cellphones to Teen Mobile. On 6/4/12 I called Verizon to inquire why my June statement was overstated by more than $300. Verizon Supervisor, Dakota, apologized for the miss information I received on 4/10/12, but that according to their internal data information, the official contract termination dates for the 2 phones in question were in August 2012. He refused to waive the fees even though Verizon customer service staff gave me miss information. Despite my agrument that I made every effort to comply with my contract obligations by trying to confirm my contract termiantion dates, plus the fact that at the time I was assured by Verizon that the dates given to me were the correct contract termination dates. I should not be punished for Verizon Customer Service inability to translate their own data records.

Verison Wireless are Liars and Cheaters

My Wife and I have bee lied to about services and created accounts costing excessive time and money numerous times ... This morning we have NO service on Mobile Phones or our home phone. When we were in the store in Gastonia NC the sales rep told us everything was consolidated into 2 mobile lines and one home line. This consolodation was an effort to utilize MY companies discounts as the primary account holder had been by wife. We were told evertyhing would be fine ! Since then we have come to discover there are two accounts and excessive money being spent because Verizon has us set with two contracts, one for my wife and one for me. Also , there is a Pad device which was suppose to have been dropped since the contract was expired. WELL they fixed that by creating a new contract for a Ipad and adding a line that hasn't been used in over a year. BOTTOM LINE , The sales reps in there stores LIE with no regards since and only deny everything ONCE you can get someone at the actual store about billing problems stating it wasn't on THEIR END ... There actions have cost both my wife and I countless hour in trying to straighten out the mess we are in. In dealing with one phone rep we have gotten one story only to shortly discover the problem isn't fixed and we are incurring OUTRAGEOUS bills and loss of service. We call again and get the same story from a different rep and soo on. This has been going on since Febuary and our only real option is to discontiune our service with them but that will cost nearly $1000 dollars on 2 actual devices we use and one we dont EVEN have, ASIDE from out right lies about service I have SO often watched as they sold people a "bill of goods" in telling them they NEED this memory or that device for the most out of there phone when most of these inccidents I have seen I try to advise potential ccustomers they are being lied to and sold need services and devices as I have a college degree in IT and know all it takes to have a simple phone or a snazzy smart phone. REALLY sad thing is many of these folks are older retired tupes living on fixed incomes, OR, young college age kids only needing a simple phone to make calls of neccisity. They are all crooks and liars all the while paying their CEO an obscene salary , which by the way has raised a lot of prrotest from the AFL-CIO along with other consumer groups. BOTTOM LINE ... RUN LIKE *** AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM VERIZON .....

Verizon - Most Horrid Company

Have been through many cell providers and Verizon is the worst. They told me there was 4G coverage at my home and work address by their sales rep Gregory Karas that oh yes, I will have 4G at both locations. In calling back they couldn't even find my office address. Have *** for coverage and was promised their technical team would resolve. Not fixed by the last day of my 100% Customer Satisfaction 14 Day period so I called because not only that but my bill which I asked if I'd be billed a month in advance was no. Lie#1. So he said they would cut $60.00 off and prior to sent many emails but because he convinced me I would get this credit and my connection would be fixed on the last day. Never happend. Everyone I spoke to I documented and each gave me a line of bull. Now contacting the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Agency, BBB, Local News Station, and every social media outlet I can as my internet speed I was told after paying a 3rd party $79.00 to make sure my pc was running in proper order to say call your cell co. You have a severe network problem. So I called and in speaking to a rep named Geri she had me do a speed test and the upload speed is .09. Worse than dial up. So now I'm fighting tooth and nail to get this cancelled as all I have been given is misinformation and bold faced lies. And to top it off I did buy a cell phone and returned the next day and they refused to refund my money but would credit my accont. Screw them... Nice way to keep my money those dishonest jags. Am posting this on every site I find in addtition to my over 500 FB friends. Will trash their company any way shape and form. Word of mouth is everthing and I have a huge mouth. If anyone reads this do not give them your busniness. There are reputable companies and Verizon is not one of them.

Verizon Wireless

I was afraid of exceeding my monthly allowed minutes so went online to upgrade my plan to allow more minutes. (My contract expired several years ago.) Rather than changing me to the old plan, it terminated my existing plan and prorated it. So while I had not exceeded my monthly minutes, I had apparently exceeded my prorated minutes resulting in an excess minute charge of $290. When I called company to say that I had apparently misunderstood how the plan worked they offerred to deduct $45 from the bill if I agreed to sign a up for a new 2 year contract. I was flabbergasted. I threatened to discontinue the service if they didn't resolve it at which point they agreed to deduct $90. I took the discount and told them I was going to change carriers. I was very pleasant with them and explained that I'd had service with them for 10 years with no issues, that I'd obviously misunderstood something in the way I changed the monthly billing. They said by changing on the website I was entering into a legal contract and I should have called them if I didn't understand. Well, try finding a phone # on the website let alone sitting on hold trying to get someone to talk to you. Bottom line, they're losing a $130/month customer over a simple misunderstanding and they could have cared less. Good by Verizon, customer service doesn't suck, company policies on customer care do.

Verizon Wireless Store unethical

Store at 13620 S Tamiami Trl, Ft. Myers, FL They tell you they can return it but do no mention a re-stocking fee. They have you sign an electronic screen with just a place for a signature. Then they put the receipt in a bag with the product. The receipt doesn't have your signature on it. I was so concerned about poor phone coverage that I actually had the branch manager sign a letter that I would not be charged if I returned it. Unfortunately, the letter did not mention a re-stocking fee and no disclosure was made that there was one.

Just got my postcard today. Said they could not honor my submission because purchase info could not be validated.

I know I did everything perfectly.

Called the 800 number on the card and it was cleared up in a minute. Makes you wonder if anything was wrong, maybe they hope people just trash the card or give up.

Verizon Wireless- Mt Pleasant Michigan

I bought a HTC One phone (new) under two year contract just a week ago from this outlet. The phone HEATS UP so hot it could burn your hand. I look up on the internet, there are 150 complaints on this phone for same issue. I go in there today- NO SERVICE-spent more time checkin me out, rather than offer service- I was told I had to pay $35 to get an exchange to an IPHONE,NO offer to SWAP the battery or phone,WHICH I'M REALLY )#*$#)( ABOUT. Man,thats customer service-Brand New Contract,Brand New Customer,Brand New Phone (which Verizon will no longer carry HTC-I wonder why)and they still have guts enough to DUMP a product on new customers they know they wont service or support) seems like that would be an FTC violation. Oh yeah, and this team in this store is servicing a college town. Nice place to take advantage of folks and earn a profit. IF YOU DISLIKE YOUR PHONE, go to AT/T,TMobile,Virgin,or BestBuy....... THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET TO BE THE BIGGEST..its no longer about customers its about money..................... Upper Management needs to make a stop at Mt Clemens Michigan store soon to check out their service attitude, and sales techniques..... and maybe warn staff not to use customers as a dating service.. crashndetroit

I am afraid I am done with Verizon

Too many lies, too many broken promises, too high monthly payments. These people have no shame. I was told when I signed up that they would waive the activation fee, well lo and behold the fee shows up on my first month's bill. I call them up about it and they refuse to take it off. They have also been sneaking in bogus charges on my monthly bill for months now. I know what they are up to. The customer service reps are rude as heck and one even hung the phone up on me once. I called back and demanded to speak to their manager and did. They always act like customers are a bother to them. Nevermind that the customer is why they are in business. Bye Bye Verizon!!

so that's not the true story, you psycho? so it's safe to assume that your post is just fake. you don't even go out in public because you're always on here, you fat slob.

#483027

I am glad you were hung up on. It obviously taught you a lesson because the next time you went to Walmart and Wendy's you had good experiences most likely because you behaved yourself.

Hopefully other people have the guts to hang up on you or ignore your tantrums. You are the one who is rude as heck. You just got a taste of your own medicine.

Now that you know what it feels like you behaved your age (rather than like a second grader) at Wendy's and Walmart and they were all than happy to serve you. This complaint should be a compliment.

Could the reason that you expected to use Walmart for your personal phone calls from your sister have to do with your not having a cell phone?

#483025

You know since you say they like to lie, and because you have lied to us several times perhaps you should consider s job at Verizon? At least you can support your own self and don't need your husband to support you. Because trust me if he is going to put up with you any longer one day he may just put a gun to his head.

#482771

All I want is a phone that works. When I moved to Arkansas, I never received a single phone call on my phone except for telemarketing calls for Weight Watchers.

When I called Verizon and demanded to know why I was not receiving any calls except for telemarketers for Weight Watchers, he said that's because no body (except for the telemarketers from Weight Watchers) called me. IMPOSSIBLE!

People like me and want to talk to me. And the only reason I can guess that my phone hasn't rang is because Verizon is not allowing any of my friends to call me.

#482501

Not the story at all.

#482010

so here's what happened. Lea01 told the Verizon associates that she should get the activation fee waived because her husband works at Walmart Home Office as their lead janitor.

and Lea doesn't understand bills because her husband pays all of them. so when she saw that there were taxes on the bill, she called to argue even though that is a part of everyone's bill. the reps were fair to her and explained the charges to her. but Lea claimed that since her husband can clean their bathrooms for them, she should have the taxes waived.

then she decided to harass them even further so they hung up. good luck with your next cell phone service and have fun paying the cancellation fee for Verizon which also applies with other services. what will be your reason for that? your husband works at home office?

I haven't heard that one before. dumb *** you need to grow up.

Verizon's Deminishing services

Verizon Wireless - Verizon's Deminishing services
My wife and I were with Verizon, our phone service for 6 years was great. april 28 2012 adjustments were made to their frequency output and our service's stopped, a representive we spoke to told us that our phones less than a year old were basically an experimental peice of garbage the raido's in them were never meant for 4G, so much for the thunderbolt's then tried to sell us another phone or a range extender to boost their signal for $300. The same night an update came to the phone to fix the problem but all the update did was give more power to the raidos, killing the battery quickly

I had a system update done and now my DROIDX 2 won't keep my wifi or 3g. Had hard reset done 4 times before they told me I needed a new phone.

I don't understand why I was sent a system update if this phone won't work with the update. I got nowhere and now have problems holding any kind of signal.

I am grandfathered in with unlimited everything. If I were to get a new phone I will lose my unlimited, which makes me wonder what that update was really about.
